Reviews: Indoor Security Detection Assistant KC100

While Jennifer H. experience Perfect for home surveillance.

These are great! Very clear video and audio. They pick up noise all the way across my home. The notifications can get annoying as they go off every second.

Another customer PatW said Just as good if not better than more expensive brands!.

We have outside motion detection cameras and I wanted to add an indoor one but didn't want to pay the $179 for the same system so thought I would give this a try. I already have their smart plugs and love them so was hoping for the same quality. Our dog recently had surgery and we needed to keep an eye on him when we are not home. I am so pleased with this, the picture quality is fantastic, the picture I have included shows the night vision and the ability to talk/listen. The second picture shows the view with a light on. I will more than like be purchasing more of these!

This a word from -M say Kasa spot and hidden fees.

It could be a good camera but after installing one of the Kasa Spot KC100 you find that the FREE storage is only for 3 hours. Yes only three hours not days. If you want more plan on paying additional $40++ a year. For a few dollars more you can buy the Kasa Indoor KC120 and get 2 days of free storage. I found the KC120 also seems to have a much better build and is much more stable on wifi. The question about free storage answered by the Manufacture above is only for one camera when the KC100 was not sold. This is very misleading. Now the hassle of returning everything.

A review Jeremiah say Works Great - Low Price.

I already have a couple of Kasa plugs, and this integrated seamlessly into the app with the other products. I'm not paying for a monthly subscription, but I have an alert set up and you can view the videos and download them. I forget how long the videos are kept with the free subscription. The video is crisp and clear and the sound quality is good.

The only negative I encountered during my first week of use is that the camera is, at times, sensitive to changes in room lighting. On one mostly cloudy day, when we also left our blinds open, we were alerted every few minutes for several hours. When I watched the video clips, however, all I saw was the window getting brighter and darker with changes in the sun.

Now, personally, for the price and how well the camera performs otherwise, this isn't a big issue for me. And, in about 8 days, it only happened the one day, when we also left the blinds open, so the changes in lighting were more dramatic than on previous days.

Overall, very pleased and I considered it a fantastic value!

A review Zantos experience Best budget camera on the market!.

These things are excellent. I have one of the larger Kasa cams in the mouse (KC120) and it works great. Clear video, good audio, two way talking and night vision. And it syncs up perfectly with Google Home, which I use to run our smart home. When I saw the Kasa Spot cams and Kasa went as fair as to email me a 20% off coupon, I jumped on them. With the coupon they came out to $40 each so I pickup and two and put them in our daughters room and our nursery, as we're expecting in July.

I honestly can't notice a difference in the quality and performance of the bigger model, which cost about $80 at the time of this review. We know have 3 Kasa cams and numerous Kasa smart plugs throughout the house and have not had any issues integrating them into our Google Home applications and we now use them on a daily basis with voice commands.

I'm wishing I had picked up 4 or 5 of them! A++

Another customer D. Breitenbach experience Disappointed, to say the least.

Let me preface this review by saying this pains me to write, as I love TP Link products. I planned to do my entire smart home in Kasa products, but I am now looking at all other options.
The build of the camera is fine. Cheap plastic, but it's an indoor camera. Looks nice.
The problem I have, with 2 cameras now, is dropping signal. I have over 100mbps internet speeds with only about 10-12 devices total in the house. I have 0 problems with connectivity other than the occasional buffer or loss while watching a streaming video. The first camera I bought dropped connection every couple hours. I thought it was possibly a faulty device, so I sent it back and replaced it with a new one, only for the second camera to do the same. Like I said, none of my other devices have connectivity issues. Our house was burglarized (hence why I got the cameras in the first place), so I cannot chance my cameras not working when I need them to.
I ordered a Ring Stick Up Cam before I decide to send this camera back for a refund to ensure it isn't my wifi, although I have an EZViz camera that has never dropped connection the entire time I've had it. I hope that TPLink can fix these issues, and maybe I'll consider buying from them again when they do.

While AmazonReviewer864 experience Ok Price but Beware Cloud Service Cost!!!!.

Pros:
Good deal on Amazon price day and overall decent price. Good camera 1080p quality & ok night mode quality (See Pictures of night footage and a snap of a day video). Fairly easy to setup with Kasa app.

Cons:
Cant watch camera live in area its setup without a loud echo pitch from any noise that gets louder and louder. You can only view on app (see picture) and can only view one camera at a time live (see picture). Biggest Con is the fact you have to pay for cloud services that end up costing more than the camera itself in not long. This one only has 12hrs of camera storage to compared to all other Kasa cams which aare 2 days. Basically you have no option but to buy cloud service. I find this to be scam like but maybe that is just me.qq

Another customer Larry deFuria Talk Great price for a great Indoor Camera.

I didn’t really need this inside camera but bought it out of curiosity because I like the Kasa app and the various bulbs, switches and plugs I’ve made into a nice system. This camera is lightweight, good looking and quite small. The USB cord is long enough for most uses and the camera flawlessly hooked up to my Kasa app on my iPhone and iPad. The connection to Amazon’s Alexa app was also easy. The video picture is very clear and has quite a wide angle for excellent coverage of my front room and front door. The wide view is a little distorted but that is to be expected and I found it reasonable for its purpose. I don’t use the alarm motion feature but I did try it and it works well. The color video and night vision also are very good. In summary, I like Kasa and will probably be buying a couple Kasa outdoor cameras in th future, once I figure out how to move an electrical outlet to where I will need it.

My friend M. J. Figurski say Hardware is good, software... does not yet exist..

Most importantly: the stream from this camera can be viewed ONLY through the Kasa app on your phone. Recorded videos can ONLY be downloaded to your phone (via the app). The camera can't be viewed online, and there is no software for PC or Mac to view it. That was a total deal breaker for me. I have no use for a webcam which I can't even view on my computer.

Plus, let's just think about it: how do you feel about the live video stream going from your home straight to some company in China? That you can't control? Gives me shivers...

Review Amazon Customer say Can't continuously stream.

We bought this camera to replace another wi-fi camera we were using that was sometimes having network issues. We picked this one because it connected to Google Assistant. Though it was twice the price of the other camera we had been using, the image quality was no better. This camera also cannot pan or anything, and stays fixed. Camera was easy to set up, has a clear enough picture with day and night vision. Connected to our google home relatively easily and could view the camera on our Lenovo Smart Display fairly easily.

Problem: The camera was being used as a baby monitor in our son's room. The camera is unfortunately incapable of live streaming continuously. By design, every 10 minutes a pop up appears in the app asking if you want to continue to live stream. The live stream stops until you hit yes. Tech support wasn't helpful, and appears feature cannot be turned off. Not sure the point of this feature and why/how it would work for anyone.
