It works fine but is waaaay overpriced especially when the connecting cable isn't included in the price. $20,00 for an item that should cost about $5.00 and also include the cable. .Therefore 3 stars.

As an OEM replacement, I suppose its worth a bit more but this price is excessive. A similar product for my Amazon fire was purchased at Walmart for about $3

Works as advertised. However, I can't imagine why Amazon doesn't include it with the Kindle. I know of no other product that does not supply an item that is essential to its use. Amazon should include this with the Kindle. So, remember, add the price of one of these to the price of the Kindle to get the "real" price of the Kindle. That is why I gave it three stars. Come on Amazon, stop the misleading pricing on the Kindle.

Gave this to my son along with the kindle I got for him for Christmas and he pronounced it totally unnecessary as a charger comes with the kindle that plugs right into your computer. This might be useful if you took long trips (the kindle battery lasts for weeks) but I doubt it. Don't waste money on this.

The charger won't stay securely connected to the Paperwhite and wiggles. It will only charge when held at a particular angle.

A: $14.04 Calling it a 5W charger rather than a 5V 1A charger is a distinction without a difference.

This is the THIRD power charger that I have HAD to buy at cost of over $30 each since my Kindle Fire purchase. Why can't the chargers last a REASONABLE amount of time? When I connected this charger, I received a message saying that it was a LOW level charger & it probably would not charge while the Kindle was in use. NOT ACCEPTABLE for this cost!!!

Angry about the need to purchase this separately from the kindle. How absurd that one can't recharge the kindle unless separately punching the charger. I've never seen a high priced item come without the means to recharge it. Epic fail for Amazon

The quality of the product is good. No doubt.

But it's supposed to come with the kindle e-reader. Amazon is very good at cutting the cost, but this time it cuts the image of Amazon in my mind. This is just a power adapter.

After I bought a kindle, and I find out that I still need to buy a power adapter. Is it not funny? Some people say the kindle can be charged with any other USB adapters, I believe that is true, but think, you bought the product, so it should naturally be a complete set, which makes your life easier. Next time, I might need to buy a screen or CPU to make it usable. Come on Amazon.
