Another customer Public name (required) experience After weeks of researching various cameras.
After having this camera working for a few hours it is doing exactly what I expected. The setup is very user friendly. The images in the live wireless feed are not perfect but that is typical of a wireless feed set up. I can't fault them on that. I have a basic wifi router and the camera still picks up a very good signal as it travels through four walls at about 50' away from my router. The picture is very good. The motion capture sends alerts rather quickly, less than a minute on average and sometimes instantly. The camera will automatically take motion captured pictures in perfect 1080p clarity. The wide range of the camera is good but not great. The app is average and does what I need it to do. The microphone picks up sound very well even though it tends to pop here and there. I haven't had much luck with the audio conversing from the app, I will try that again soon. The zoom feature is good, even better on still shots. The camera is built rather well but if one were to drop it a few times it might take on some damage. I have not done a night vision test but I will update this review if I have any issues that may arise.

Overall its worth the money and is a good camera. I had low expectations here. I was willing to buy several cameras that are $200+. I researched, watched, and read several reviews. The more and more I kept looking up various models I thought I should be a tad more conservative with my cash and try this. Worst case scenario if this cam didn't do the trick I would be out $65 bucks or had to returned it.

UPDATE (several months since purchase)
* Play back of sound is not as annoying during the live feed.
* 2-way communication is not as desired. It is like I am talking to someone in a tunnel at times. I noticed that 10-15’ audio is okay. If there’s wind it will impact the audio pickup negatively.
* Night vision is good for facial recognition within 15 feet, anything further is hit or miss. The night vision feature does not show wording on shirt which is something that I desire to have.
* The camera has had some motion issue during play back. One time it pix-elated my movement for one second. This issue seems to have been solved from an update.
*Cold temperatures. When it is around the -4 it still performs well, no issues.
*This is “very” rare but if one may experience poor performance from the camera perform a reset. Power off the camera wait a minute and power it back on. This happened on one of my cameras and helped resolve the issue. It has been fine for months since.
*Customer service via email is responsive within 24hrs.
*I paid for service on one of my cams and it did not record one afternoon. A hard reset instantly solved the issue.

The camera still does just about everything I want/expect, so I bought another.

****As of 2/19/19 I have two bullet cams, the doorbell cam, and the spot light cam. The bullet is by far the best and least expensive. The doorbell cam is pretty cool and glad I picked it up. The spot light cam is too expensive and not on par with the competition. I am still glad with this purchase several months later.

This camera worked just the way I expected. We have the netvue indoor cameras and this and those do not fail. Night vision is clear and alerts pick up all the way to the road. Easy set up both hardware and software wise. Only issue I have is my own home and the lack of outlet availability in a secure location. The pictures below are at dusk and complete dark.

Disclaimer: This unbiased review is on a product that was received for free.

I did a lot of research on cameras, and didn't want to break the bank. There are certainly some high end cameras you could get for more money. For economy and quality, I chose the NetVUE Vigil.

Cloud: No cloud required! Add a memory card and view it remotely. My wife and I often do this at the same time WHILE IT IS STILL RECORDING. Other cameras can't record and view at the same time.

Alexa Integration: Motion alerts trigger the echo to say something like "Motion detected at the Front Door." This can be enabled or disabled in the Alexa app, and respects Do Not Disturb on each device. However, it does send the announcement to ALL devices (audibly on echos, notification on phones) and there doesn't appear to be any way to specify a device. I do not have an Echo Show, yet.

Motion Detection: It detects motion well. Too well. Outdoor cameras are notorious for problems with shadows, wind, and fog. NetVUE had a beta test going on for a Human Detection alert which is supposed to reduce this. There does appear to be a delay between when one alert happens and the next is detected, which could cause a missed motion, but that appears to be industry standard so you're not spammed. I've attached a photo from a motion alert.

Picture Quality: I downgraded the quality to get more out of my memory card. It's still really good. See the attached image from a motion detection. This bird loves to sit on the camera, apparently. Maybe it will reduce the bugs that trigger it.

App: I've used a few, and this one, while simple, does the job well. You can adjust the settings and configuration, view motion alerts, play back any recorded time period.

 I will begin by saying that this is the first security camera I own, so I cant compare much to other cameras.
Having said that, its a great security camera. So far the motion detection has been able to accurately pick up movements in its camera. Also the feature to select the 'zone of motion detection' is just awesome, it gives me more control over which areas I get notified for.

One con I noticed are regarding the 'motion detection sensitivity' toggle. I have a swing in my patio with fabric cover. Everytime the cover moves in wind, it triggers an alert.
I wish there was some artificial intelligence in the camera software to distinguish different types of movements. Triggering alerts for moving swing cover or a fly in front of the camera is less than ideal.

Apart from that I have no complaints. The picture quality is great. Camera setup for both alexa and netvue app is super easy. Wifi connectivity is stable. Micro SD card loop recording works perfectly.

In all, if you are looking for a good wifi security camera, this will not disappoint.

So other than an initial setup issue (my camera wouldn't initially connect to the network using the wizard - I had to have the app generate a QR code that you hold in front of the camera) this has been fantastic. The latency is low (about 1 second behind real-time) - the two way talk works great, and the picture quality is surprisingly good, especially at night.

I had to play around with the sensitivity - since mine partially captures the road, I had to put it pretty low so it didn't go off all the time. But the image quality is great! It even caught a winged passerby for a great photo too. I highly recommend this camera. The only gripe is that you have to use the NetVue app (there's no Onvif or RTSP connections that I can find, kind of like Zmodo, except the quality is a LOT better than them on the Netvue). Beyond that, it just runs, no dropouts, it's steady and reliable, just like you want a security camera to be!

My neighborhood has experienced some recent thefts in the late night and early morning hours. I don't keep that much in my carport that anyone would want to steal, but I would like to make sure my vehicles are not being tampered with. This little camera fits perfectly into the corner of my carport and provides great a wide-angle view of my backdoor (which is our primary entrance), my shop/laundry room and my vehicles. I can see everything I need too and the image quality is fantastic.

The motion sensing capabilities are quite good, (it does activate/alert when a bug flies in front of the camera, but that's to be expected). It was super-easy to set up and to install, and within minutes of getting it unboxed, inserting the 128gb storage card it was installed and running. The recordings last for days on the card...much longer record times than I'd anticipated, which is great! Kudos to Netvue for putting together such a solid product and software app.

I'll definitely be recommending them to my friends and family (my father-in-law is ordering one) and I'll be adding more to my house, and to my outdoor pets kennel area, in the near future.

 I came back for more because this product is amazing! I can’t get over the price being so great. Typically the low cost security cams I stay away from but this one intrigued me.
It is better then the $400 outdoor cam I ordered and installed for my dads house.

This is an excellent product, I plan on buying more for the back yard and garage.

I'm a picky person when it comes to devices like this and must admit that this camera has exceeded my expectations with its clear image, functionality, and features!

I love that it gives me the ability to login through the NetVue app from anywhere in the world (with an internet connection, of course) and easily see/hear what my camera sees/hears. Its two-way audio capability makes it so I can be heard through the camera the other direction, as well!

Weatherproof wise, it has rained a lot directly onto this outdoor camera and it hasn't even skip a beat!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention NetVue's hands-down AWESOME in-app customer support Live Chat feature. At any time of the day or night when I initiate a chat, I get an immediate response *every* time! Not only do I get a quick response from them, but they know their NetVue products really well and provide excellent support to boot! Totally invaluable!

While Luv4art experience Camera has a good clear pic and easy to use app.
 Very happy with the netvue outdoor security camera. Great price and took about 30-40 min for my husband to set up. I have the app set up on my iPhone along with two other family members. Love how very simple the app is to use. You can take a simple screen shot or record and save pic/video on your phone from this outside camera. Although the camera itself does not move, it takes a wide eough angle that allows you to see a good amount of your surroundings at once. If you need to see something closer just zoom in, it does this as well. You can also pan left to right by swiping your finger on the screen. I also have the Netvue home security inside camera for which is hooked up through the same app for easy access. I am able to switch from inside to outside and can see all.

Higher quality camera. I own a NetVue Orb Tilt/Swivel type camera and this integrated instantly with the software. Motion notifications are more accurate than other brands I've tried. With the mindset of more IR LEDS make a brighter picture ... this proves me wrong. These are high power IR's and the camera has very good night vision. Sound is delayed but that is to be expected when going over the internet. Lower quality sound but again ... expected. Easy to adjust the mount angle - Tools included. Especially like the white color to keep the unit cooler outside (Black gets too hot on most cameras causing failure). Although this is Wifi it also has a RJ45 connection. I don't like using WiFi in general so this a great option. I would give the unit 4.5 stars if I could since the video on the Micro SD card is a proprietary format and there is no conversion tool if you want to copy the files off of the REMOVED Micro SD card for permanent storage in there raw form. Why the format or no conversion tool? I verified this with support which did get back to me within 24 hours - Great service. Recommended overall
