While MVTshops tell us Nice camera for the money.

The 1080P picture and night vision display is quite good, and the 30 minutes of local record time you get when a Micro SD card is installed is a nice feature.

There are some inherent features that must be considered if you are installing this in your home. The wifi technology is a bit out of date and the "30 second" setup time is misleading. This issue lays with the cameras inability to navigate a modern dual band wifi network. The camera will not connect to, or be set up by a 5G band wifi and only connects to the 2.4g band. To facilitate this, it was necessary to turn off my 5G band during set up, so my IPhone would be forced to connect to the 2.4G band network only during the set up process, as both bands use the same name and password for transparency sake; something recommended by the Wifi router manufacturer. This process increased the set up time from the advertised 30 seconds to the more realistic 30 minutes, after having to log into my wifi router twice, first turn the network off, then turn it on, and then reconnect all my other devices in the house that were disrupted by the process. You can expect to have to do this every time you either change your wifi password, or some other hiccup in the system requires re-connection.

Speaking of passwords, the camera does not allow repeat or special characters as part of your wifi password if you want it connected to your network. This can be a big problem for may people, who, in an effort to make a strong password, use several special characters, as part of a long password, or even a password generating Wifi router for strong encryption. Now I am having to compromise my wifi password integrity in order to use the camera.

Which brings us to the subject of network integrity. Unlike many modern IP cameras, you cannot hide the camera's IP address from your network. The camera constantly broadcasts its IP for any IP scanner to find. Typically I would expect the software to allow me to turn off broadcast of the IP after set up so the camera so it can be hidden from prying eyes and only be known by me alone. This makes the ability of any hacker to break into your camera feed that much easier.

As for compatibility, as long as all you want to do is see the picture on your phone or IPad, then you are golden, but don't expect to interface the camera to your Echo show, Google Home hub, Smartthings system, living room television, or any other Home security system. If there is such a way, then it is not indicated in the set up directions that come with the camera.

Remember that Micro SD card in the camera holding your stored video? Well guess what? Nothing stops someone from removing that card from a camera that is located outside using a simple Philips screwdriver. Now a future thief has a video record of when you leave for work and come home, and can time their future visit to your house. As far as I can tell, there is not cloud storage capability indicated, or even a way to set up your own storage option either inside the house, on your phone, or in the cloud as well.

The camera is powered by a 110-vac connection, so permanently installing it outside in such a way as to prevent unplugging it will require some effort. This is not necessarily unique to this camera, just don't think installation will be quick and it is just something to consider if you are installing it and will need to get power to its location. with only wifi transmission possible, POE power is not possible. This is not such a problem if mounting it inside where outlets are plentiful, so long as the first thing a thief does is not to unplug the camera.

If you just want one camera to provide you a quick way to monitor your front door, or your neighbor's house across the street, or the back of your house and you are not so concerned about video archiving, or integration into a larger security system, and you don't believe anyone would ever hack your system, then this may very well be the camera for you.

Another customer Jacob Abbott say Great outdoor security camera with lots of features..

This security camera was very easy to install and sync with my wifi using the phone app. I like that there's an option to insert a micro SD card, which allows for hours of playback recording that can be accessed on the phone app. The picture quality is great and the night vision works well too. This camera includes everything needed to get it installed, including mounting hardware and a long power cord with extension of required. Set up took about 5 minutes and install another 15 or so. The app loads the video feed quickly and this is an overall great value for the price.

Another customer Chuck say Excellent security camera.

I already have the security cameras surrounding my house, but all cameras only record video, no audio. Ordered this one going to install at my front door, because has two-way audio.

[Connection]. I tried it out at my garage before installation.Connect camera to 2.4G WiFi is easy, (not compatible with 5G). Just downloaded the app. follow the manual instructions, connect to my phone in minutes, not losing the signal even WiFi router is in my bedroom.

[ pictures quality] with 1080P, day and night images is crystal clear, compare my other cameras with 720P, this is much better.

[two-way audio] this is the reason I bought this camera for. Talking sound loud and clear, you hear every word said clear through camera
.
[motion detection] with motion sensor you can set camera to focus on certain area, and adjust motion sensitivity to low, otherwise you will get a lot of false alarm.

[ storage] I haven’t insert the sd card
for store the records yet, but it says can reserved up to 128GB, that is a lot days recorded for playback.

This is excellent security camera, definitely deserve my 5 stars.

As Gary H experience Great security camera.

This camera has excellent build quality. I thought the case was plastic, but it's either metal or aluminum. It's built well and seems to be built for the outdoors.

Before I set up any camera I always set it up inside the house. I quickly scanned the manual, downloaded the JAWA app, and installed the camera without an issue. The setup reminds me of the wyze cam setup process. That is why it was so easy or familiar to me to set up. Even the app options page reminds me of the corresponding wyze cam page. The hardware, however, seems like a step above that of the wyze. The camera case is better (metal vs plastic), the night vision leds are better (brighter and more of them - see uploaded pics), and the pic quality seem to be sharper/better than the popular wyze cams.

The white balance on this camera works well (See uploaded pic). My slightly yellow light comes out white on this camera.

One great thing about this camera is that it has a micro sdcard slot which I will be using for continuous record. It's a must have feature for cloud cams, at least for me.

I plan on buying several more to put around the house. It should last with such a durable housing and it looks good too.

A review Ben tell us Promising product..

In this price point this is a fine exterior camera. The images are clear enough for most uses and the extension cable is a welcome bonus often sold as an add-on but is included. This included cable is worth at least 1/3 the cost of the whole kit. It holds a fairly stable 2.4ghz connection no problem. No cloud DVR is available but there is a SD card slot inside the speaker housing. I have not located a reset switch in case something goes wrong (like pairing it to another access point) and the NVR function is a little confusing and I have yet to set up the ONVIF successfully. Most people won't use these features but I sure wish the instructions were a bit clearer. You can change the password for NVR but can't assign a USERID to it. Strange. All in all it is a perfectly capable low cost security camera. One thing I wondered before purchasing it is whether the housing was metal or plastic. I can confirm it is metal and seems be good quality. I am not sure how the ball joint (used for aiming the field of view) will hold position as it does not lock.

Review james said UPDATE:instructions if you want to use a different app... im actually impressed.

the app is crap, if you used this more than a few min, you know that. I figured out how to use this with a different program. I used tinycam
tiny cam has a scan network feature, click that from the 3 bar menu.
it should detect the camera, mine was named csder
check the box next to the camera, click the add button in the bottom right when the search is done.
press the camera icon in the main page, after a few seconds it will ask for a username/password. its admin/123456.

only been playing with this for a day, but im pretty happy with the quality and the night vision. set up was pretty easy, it was an interesting method with the tones playing so the camera can pick it up. I had some trouble setting it up cause I was interupted by a phone call. in trouble shooting I tried to reset it to factory by pushing a pin in the hole on the back. THIS IS NOT THE RESET BUTTON, ITS THE MICROPHONE! oops. mounting hardware is very sturdy. and the camera body is all metal. the IR emitters are true IR, not near field IR that you can see with your eyes.

Another customer Rick said Good outdoor security wifi camera with two way sound.

This camera was very easy to install using the app. It uses your 2.4 GHz wifi to provide the live view. I have dual band Verizon router and I didn't have to turn off my 5 GHz band to connect to the camera. But make sure your password doesn't have special characters.

The video quality of the camera is great. Especially the day time view looks great and the night time view with infrared is ok, does the job . I hard wired the camera, which was a bit off work but the finish result looks great. The camera does a good job of capturing motion and sending the notifications.

Also you can insert a SD card, which allows hours of playback recording and can be accessed through the phone app.

Overall I am satisfied with the build quality and features of this outdoor camera for the price point.

Another customer Robert experience Will made amd very affordable.

Got these for the backyard. It was easy to set up. Used three screws to keep in place. The base is made of metal and very sturdy. It took me a couple of trys to connect the camera to the app. But when it finally finished it worked great. Very nice picture quality. It is going to be left outside so needed a micro ad card which I did not have. You have to unscrew the cover for the sd card. Had to order some but was still able to record and take pictures using the app which saved it to my phone. The sound quality was very nice. For $37 it is a steal. The cord was an issue for me. I think it is about 20 feet total and i needed a bit more. An extension cord will fix that. It is small so it can be placed almost anywhere. Overall a very nice cam. Can set it for motion detection as well, but needed an sd card which i did not have. You can control the zoom also with your phone, which I thought was really impressive.

This a word from Timothy H experience Nice outdoor camera.

We order a lot of items online and it has always been a concern of mine that the packages may get stolen off of our front porch, this camera will now help us identify someone if they happen to steal a package or do something else to the front side of my house.
The camera easily pairs to the phone, although it uses some audio tones from your phone to configure it, these tones are annoying but it only takes about 30 seconds and then it is configured. The image quality seems great the app seems to be well done, everything that I tried to do in the app worked. I put in a micro SD card into the slot so that it will record anytime movement is detected. The two way speaker is an awesome feature.

One thing I would change is the power plug, they used a basic DC barrel plug that relies on friction to stay in place, this could easily be disconnected on accident or intentionally by someone. There are locking DC barrel plugs available and hopefully the manufacturer uses these in the future, I may change the plugs out on my camera for this style for that peace of mind.

Overall I am happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a basic outdoor security camera.

Review Malibu Shary experience Good because....

Firstly, this is not my first wifi security camera. I'm adding to my network. This camera seemed to be a GREAT deal. Leary, I got one.

Amazing!! The manual is so much better than any other Asian made manual. It's not perfect, but it's a far cry from the others. Very detailed.

Amazing!! The motion detection AREA is settable in the app. This means I can prevent false recordings from the moving shadows and car lights. In fact, I'm having this issue with my other cameras, which only have sensitivity setting, not AREA setting. Crazy good.

AMAZING!!! Pairing was easy. BUT you need to just follow the app. The camera speaker speaks and asks for the phone to be near, but dont do it until the app tells you.

The picture quality is great. Looking at recordings is reasonably fast and works well.

*****IMPORTANT
I found out to get it to record on motion, you have to turn on ALARM setting. In that setting, you can turn off local alarm and have it record. Otherwise it will not. The manual is lax in this.
